Maintaining your designation:
Associate or Certified Professional Constructors are required to
maintain their Certification status through a documented program
of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Certificants must
obtain ten (10) credits of CPD in areas specified by the AIC
Constructor Certification Commission during each four-year Certification
period. The four areas specified by AIC for CPD credits are (1)
Education; (2) Teaching research and publication; (3) Professional
practice and professional affiliation and (4) Community service.
How to Get CPD Credit for Continuing Education:
AIC provides to members and nonmembers a means of obtaining Continuing
Education Credits for certification maintenance. Certificants
may
- Take a course
(i.e. workshop, seminar or lecture) from an AIC Approved Provider,
or
- Take a
course from a non approved provider that has been reviewed
and approved by AIC.
Either of these methods doubles the amount of CPD credits earned
over a nonapproved course.
Approved Providers:
Approved providers of continuing education have completed a formal
application process to AIC to ensure the suitability of the content
and format of their continuing education activities. Providers
may include accredited institutions and private organizations.
The process of pre approving providers ensures that certificants
have access to appropriate, high-quality continuing education
activities.
You may receive CPD credit for specified courses that you attend
from an AIC approved provider. Below is a current list of AIC approved
providers. Click on the provider to see the list of courses available.
