AIC Assists in Planning International Conference


The 2002 meeting of the International Association for Professional Management of Construction (IAPMC) will be held May 30, 2002 through June 1, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois. Assisting in the planning of this meeting is T. J. Ferrantella, AIC, CPC, Chairman of the AIC Constructor Certification Commission. The Conference will draw representatives of national organizations concerned with setting educational requirements and/or accrediting educational programs, representatives of national organizations setting procedures leading to professional recognition in the field of management of construction.

The IAPMC was developed solely to promote the status of professional construction management internationally. The Institute has been represented by Dr. Roger Liska, FAIC, CPC, FCIOB since IAPMC's first meeting in 1995 in Ascot, England. The June 2002 Conference will include sessions devoted to "big issue" topics such as the export of education services, distance learning, movement of professionals across geographical lines and reciprocity of accreditation and/or certification

Immediately following the close of the IAPMC conference on June 1, the AIC Constructor Certification Commission will hold its quarterly meeting. Chairman Ferrantella extends an invitation to any interested IAPMC conference registrant as well as Chicago area AIC members and Certified Professional Constructors to attend the Commission meeting.
